Enter the heart of a South Bohemian home. The true soul of a Czech summer is found in Ovocné knedlíky—sweet fruit dumplings.

In this intimate 1,5 hour class, you will be welcomed into a cozy home in Český Krumlov. You will learn the "Grandma’s Original" recipe using tvaroh (Czech quark/curd cheese). This dough is notoriously tricky to master but results in a delicate, melt-in-your-mouth texture that perfectly complements the tartness of strawberries.

Mix and knead the quark dough by hand, learning the exact "feel" that indicates the perfect ratio. Learn the thumb-press technique to wrap whole strawberries perfectly so they don't burst during boiling.

Most foreigners are surprised to find that we don't use cream or icing. You will learn to grate traditional hard tvaroh (similar to a very dry ricotta) to create a snowy topping.

Once the dumplings rise to the surface, drench them in melted butter and sugar. Enjoy your creations together with a cup of herbal tea or a cold glass of homemade lemonade.
