As we drive toward Zărnești, at the foot of the Piatra Craiului mountains, I'll tell you a bit about the area and what makes this sanctuary special before we arrive. I will time our arrival to match your scheduled guided tour, so we won't keep the group waiting.

Once inside, you'll join a guided walk led by the sanctuary's own team, along a forest trail of about 2 kilometers, lasting roughly one hour. It's there, with their guide, that you'll hear the individual stories of the bears you meet along the way — how they were rescued, and how they live now. It's a completely different way to see these animals: not performing, not pacing in a cage, just living the way bears are meant to, at their own pace, in their own forest.

After the sanctuary, we will head to one of the most beloved spots in the area: Panner. This isn't just a simple stop; it's an introduction to Transylvanian hospitality. Panner is a local artisanal bakery famous for its traditional techniques, cozy atmosphere, and high-quality ingredients.

Here, you will indulge in "Local Flavors" — a selection of fresh, handmade pastries and local specialties that change with the season. Whether you prefer something sweet or savory, it's the perfect moment to relax, enjoy a drink, and chat about local life in Romania today.

Heading Back to Brasov

After our culinary break, we'll drive back to Brasov, with time to relax, chat, or just enjoy the views one more time. I will drop you off directly at your hotel or any other central location of your choice, leaving you with great photos, a satisfied heart, and stories of the bears' second chance at life to tell.
