Finca La Esperanza Nature and Wildlife Night Tour｜Costa Rica

Step into the nighttime world of the rainforest with the Villegas family at Finca La Esperanza, a working family farm just outside La Fortuna. The family has lived and worked on this land for more than 40 years, raising animals, producing products, and caring for the forest that surrounds their home.
Your experience begins as the sun sets and the forest begins to wake up. Together with a member of the Villegas family, you will walk along the farm’s trails with flashlights in search of the animals that come out after dark. Keep your eyes open for colorful frogs, snakes, sleeping birds, insects, and other nocturnal wildlife that live in the trees, along the streams, and among the plants.
Along the way, your hosts will share stories about life on the farm, how the family works with nature, and the sustainable practices they use to protect the land. Because this is their home, every tour feels personal and authentic.
The walk lasts about two hours and moves at a relaxed pace, making it a great activity for couples, families, and small groups. Each night is different, and every tour offers a new opportunity to discover the hidden world of the rainforest after dark.
