Product Info

From the bustling streets of Baghdad to the legendary ruins of Babylon, Ur, Nineveh, and Hatra, this archaeological journey takes travelers deep into the heart of ancient Mesopotamia — the cradle of civilization. The experience begins in Baghdad with visits to the Iraqi Museum, home to priceless Sumerian, Babylonian, Assyrian, and Abbasid treasures, before exploring the massive ruins of Dur-Kurigalzu and the monumental Taq Kasra arch, one of the greatest architectural achievements of the ancient world. Evenings in Baghdad include walks through lively districts, riverside views of the Tigris, traditional cafés, and authentic Iraqi cuisine.

Travelers then step into the world of the Abbasid Caliphate through Baghdad’s medieval quarters, wandering historic alleyways, ancient madrasas, mosques, book markets, and riverside palaces that once stood at the center of the Islamic Golden Age.

Heading south, the tour explores the legendary city of Babylon, where guests walk among the remains of Nebuchadnezzar’s palace, the Ishtar Gate, the Lion of Babylon, and the site associated with the Tower of Babel. Nearby, the towering ziggurat of Borsippa rises dramatically from the desert landscape. In southern Iraq, travelers visit Uruk, birthplace of writing and home of Gilgamesh, before reaching the magnificent Ziggurat of Ur, one of the best-preserved monuments of the ancient world. Ancient temples, royal tombs, and cuneiform-inscribed ruins reveal the story of the earliest cities and civilizations ever built.

The journey continues north through Samarra’s spiral minarets and Abbasid palaces, then onward to Hatra, a breathtaking desert city blending Roman, Parthian, and Eastern architecture. In Mosul and the Assyrian heartland, guests explore Ashur, Nimrud, and Nineveh — once capitals of the mighty Assyrian Empire — discovering ancient gates, palaces, temples, canals, aqueducts, and rock carvings created nearly 3,000 years ago.

The tour concludes in Erbil, one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities, where travelers explore the ancient citadel, traditional bazaars, and historic cafés. Throughout the journey, guests experience Iraq not only through its archaeological wonders, but also through its hospitality, cuisine, culture, and living history.
