Product Info

【Sasaguri Kyudai-no-Mori】

Sasaguri Kyudai-no-Mori is located at the western edge of the Kyushu University campus and is jointly maintained and managed by Sasaguri Town and Kyushu University.

The approximately 17-hectare forest is home to about 50 species of evergreen broad-leaved trees and about 40 species of deciduous broad-leaved trees. Along the 2-kilometer walking path around the central pond, there are gazebos and benches made from local forest thinned wood, allowing you to take a break while feeling the nature!

【Yamaya Factory Terrace】

We offer 'freshly made mentaiko' that can only be purchased at the Yamaya Factory Terrace. The Yamaya Factory Terrace is a facility where you can 'know,' 'buy,' and 'eat' to 'experience' mentaiko. With the desire for you to love mentaiko even more, we have prepared services only possible because the facility is adjacent to the factory.

【Aso Oura Villa】

The 'Oura Villa' is said to have been built at the end of the Taisho era and is a beautiful residence with a refined Japanese-style irimoya shoin-zukuri architecture.

Although usually closed to the public, it is opened to the public during the autumn foliage season to provide an opportunity to experience the architecture of a representative large residence from the Meiji and Taisho eras through the cultural assets held by the Aso family, and to deepen exchanges with the local community!

The scenery viewed from the residence is beautiful, with red and yellow colored trees standing out against the lawn-covered garden, allowing you to feel the history and tradition of the Aso family.

【Akizuki Castle Ruins】

The 'Akizuki Castle Ruins' in Akizuki, Asakura City, also known as the 'Little Kyoto of Chikuzen,' is the site of a castle built in the early Edo period. Today, the stone walls, Kuro-mon gate, and Nagaya-mon gate retain the atmosphere of the past. Along with the emotional townscape of the castle town, the autumn foliage is beautiful in the fall, and the tunnel of autumn leaves on the 'Sugi-no-Baba' street is particularly spectacular, attracting many tourists. There are also scattered old folk house cafes and museums, where a quiet and calm time flows. It is a popular tourist destination where you can feel the history and natural beauty of Fukuoka.
