【Rurikoji Temple】
There are 60 five-story pagodas remaining in Japan, and the one at Rurikoji Temple is the 10th oldest, highly regarded as the most excellent structure from the mid-Muromachi period.
＜Five-Story Pagoda＞
The five-story pagoda at Rurikoji Temple has wide eaves on each level, and the tower body tapers as it goes up, giving it a slender and refined appearance. In contrast, the first level is tall, and the thick pillars provide a strong sense of stability.
As a structure from the Muromachi period, it features minimal decoration.
【Tokuan Temple】
In the past, it was written as 'yellow leaves', but since the Heian period, it has been written as 'autumn leaves' (momiji). It is also said that 'momiji' comes from 'beni-ginu' (red-dyed silk). There are about 200 maple trees at Tokuan Temple.

【Chofu Garden】
Chofu Garden covers an area of about 31,000 square meters, with a pond at its center, surrounded by a study, tea house, and arbor, preserving the quiet atmosphere of the past to this day.
Storehouses are scattered throughout the garden. The first storehouse features a shop on the first floor selling Shimonoseki's famous sweets and accessories, and the second floor displays works by local artists. There is also a whale exhibition room and a gallery.
