Discover the small fishing village of Mahebourg, the first capital of Mauritius, with a local guide. Enjoy total immersion into the multiculturalism and eventful history of this town. Mahebourg is a beautiful melting pot of cultures and religions and you will even see a mosque during this walking tour.

Visit a Tamil temple, known as Kovil, and marvel at the different colorful features and statues of this holy site. Walk towards the Naval Museum and learn about the history of Mauritius, the sea battles, shipwrecks and naval war items. See Notre Dame des Anges Church, one of the oldest churches on the island.

Stroll around the streets of Mahebourg, stop by its buzzing markets and let yourself be tempted by its delicious street food. Keep walking to Biscuterie Rault for a visit to the factory and a tasting of typical cassava biscuits (biscuit manioc) made using the same traditional family recipe for 140 years.

Enjoy lunch at Falaise Rouge a cliffside restaurant offering farm-to-table cuisine with many ingredients sourced from the Ferney Agri-Hub and local producers.
