Explore the Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi on a day trip from Rome. Admire the mother church of the Roman Catholic Order of Friars Minor Conventual in Assisi, a town in the Umbria region in central Italy, where Saint Francis was born and died.

Depart from Rome at 7:30 AM in an air-conditioned minivan and head to Assisi. Arrive at about 10:00 AM and enjoy a free visit of the Shrine of the Porciuncula to Santa Maria degli Angeli. Continue to the center of Assisi where you can visit the Basilica of San Francisco.

Enjoy free time for lunch (not included) and visit Santa Clara. Finally, return to Rome at 2:30 PM with arrival at the hotel at 5:30 PM.
