Rome is much more than a checklist of famous monuments. On this small-group experience, I’ll show you the city I know and love, mixing iconic places with hidden corners, unexpected details and stories that are easy to miss when exploring on your own.
I’m Robin, a local host and guide, and rather than following a rigid script, I like to experience Rome as a city that is still alive. We’ll walk through different layers of its history — from Ancient Rome to the Renaissance and Baroque city, with curious stories, beautiful streets, churches, fountains and traces of the past appearing along the way.
Depending on our route, we might encounter places such as the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Piazza Venezia and the Vittoriano, along with other famous landmarks. But some of my favorite moments are often found between them: a quiet street, an overlooked ancient remain, a small church, an unusual detail or simply a corner of Rome with a story worth telling.
With a maximum of only 6 guests, the experience can remain flexible. Tell me what fascinates you about Rome and, whenever possible, I can adapt part of our walk around your interests. We can stop longer somewhere you love, change direction, or explore something unexpected we discover along the way.
And because discovering my Rome isn't only about monuments and history, we'll also stop for a little taste of local life. Along the way, I'll treat you to something local — perhaps a gelato, a slice of Roman pizza, a coffee, or another small treat. What we try can change depending on where our walk takes us — another part of experiencing Rome as I know and live it.
Think of it less as following a sightseeing checklist and more as exploring Rome with someone who lives here and wants to show you why this city continues to surprise him.
Rome isn't a museum with a fixed route — and this experience isn't either.
