  • Nagaoka Fireworks Festival

The Nagaoka Fireworks Festival is the largest annual summer fireworks event in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture, and is one of Japan's three major fireworks festivals. Over 20,000 fireworks are launched, known for their spectacular scale and high-density choreography. The iconic 'Reconstruction Prayer Fireworks' and 'Sanshakudama' are awe-inspiring, and the wide venue along the river provides an immersive viewing experience.

The charm of the Nagaoka Fireworks Festival lies not only in the spectacular fireworks but also in its profound historical significance. This festival originated from the spirit of post-war reconstruction and prayers for peace, with every firework symbolizing blessings and hope for the future. Large-scale creative fireworks like the 'Phoenix' and 'Long Waves of Light' paint the night sky into a magnificent sea of light. Combined with the stunning display, moving stories, and summer night atmosphere, it is hailed as a Japanese fireworks festival you must see at least once in your life.
