The Aso Nakadake Crater, towering over one of the world's largest calderas, offers a dynamic landscape of actively erupting smoke. After admiring this sight, head to Kusasenrigahama, a grassland at an altitude of 1,100 meters at its base. Here, you can enjoy the idyllic scenery that symbolizes Aso, with its two ponds and grazing horses. From July onwards, you can also visit Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine, which is popular for its mystical atmosphere.

In the afternoon, we'll visit the mystical Takachiho Gorge. We'll stroll through the beautiful valley with its sheer cliffs and emerald green waters. Afterwards, we'll visit Amanoiwato Shrine, where legend says Amaterasu Omikami hid herself, and Amanoyasukawara, a fantastical cave where it is said that the eight million gods gathered, allowing us to experience the world of mythology.

[Aso Crater] The Aso caldera, with its rugged lava rock face, is one of the world's largest, measuring 18km east-west and 25km north-south. Among the five peaks of Aso (Nekodake, Takadake, Nakadake, Eboshidake, and Kishimadake) that rise in the center of the caldera, Nakadake is still actively erupting. Nakadake has a diameter of 600m and a depth of 130m. In its massive crater, which has a circumference of 4km, you can see the fierce white plumes of smoke and the dynamic scenery up close. *When volcanic activity is high, it may be impossible to approach the crater.
