- An Authentic Samurai Experience: A Living Legend of the Modern Era — Supervised by Isao Machii
- Holder of 6 Guinness Records! An authentic samurai experience supervised by the modern-day samurai, Isao Machii. Legendary techniques, now in your hands. Isao Machii, a modern-day samurai who holds 6 Guinness World Records and has appeared in numerous domestic and international media, brings you this program. Based on his overwhelming skill, this is an authentic samurai experience program. Instruction is provided safely and carefully by ranked practitioners of Shushin-ryu Iaido Heiho, the school where Isao Machii serves as Soke (Grandmaster), so beginners can participate with peace of mind. In this experience, you will focus on the structure of the sword and its proper use, making it the only place in the world to learn authentic samurai techniques. By holding a real Japanese sword, you will feel the history and weight of the blade, gaining a valuable opportunity to understand how the samurai of old lived and fought. After dressing in a kimono, learning samurai etiquette, and mastering basic sword techniques, you will practice Iaido and Kenjutsu. Through this experience, where you can deeply learn about the spirit of Bushido and Japanese traditional culture, you will surely take a step closer to becoming a true samurai.
- Martial Arts That Truly Work
- Unlike modern Iaido, which competes for the 'elegance of form,' Shushin-ryu Iaido Heiho pursues Iaido as a 'martial art that truly works.' Refined as a technique to defeat an opponent, every movement is devoid of waste and breathes with rationality based on the structural theory of the sword and body manipulation. Experience Iaido not for 'showing' but for 'living' in this training session. It will be a moment that touches the essence of martial arts and changes your 'samurai perspective' from within.
- Highly Recommended for Aikido Practitioners!! Iaido and Kenjutsu are the very roots of Aikido.
- Aikido, which has spread globally as a modern martial art, was deeply influenced by Kenjutsu and Iaido among the many ancient martial arts studied by its founder, Morihei Ueshiba, in his youth. The movement of the center of gravity and the management of distance (ma-ai) accompanying the act of drawing the sword (nukitsuke), as well as the 'logic of sen' (taking the initiative) to control an opponent's movements, are all connected to Iaido and Kenjutsu and form the foundation of Aikido's movements. In fact, simply by incorporating the consciousness of 'cutting' into Aikido techniques, the precision and power transmission change dramatically, which clearly shows the significant influence Iaido and Kenjutsu have had on Aikido. However, the important thing is— Not every Iaido or Kenjutsu school can teach the truths of Aikido. It is no exaggeration to say that among those who practice Iaido and Kenjutsu today, Isao Machii is the only one who can correctly speak of and practice the essence that serves as the origin of Aikido. By learning the authentic principles of Iaido and Kenjutsu that he imparts, you will gain insights that approach the core of Aikido and a deeper understanding of it as a martial art.
