She opened a small studio on the third floor of a quiet building in Hongdae.
No signage, no luxury branding — a gallery-like room with a traditional Ondol stone floor.
One rule: read the skin before recommending anything.
Since then her team has recorded the skin of more than 8,000 visitors from over 50 countries.
Not a clinical database, but a record of how climate, water, diet, stress and long-haul travel show up on real skin across cultures.

- Arrival You find us on the third floor, above EDIYA Coffee. Tea is poured — Korean flower tea, hot or iced — and you sit for a few minutes while the noise of Hongdae drops away. Nothing starts until you have settled.
- Skin reading Before anything is applied, your therapist works through a skin checklist with you: skin type, hydration, sensitivity, barrier condition, and how travel is affecting you right now. Multilingual guide cards carry the detail, so language is never in the way.
- Spine line care — Personal Body & Skin Care only You rest on a warmed thermal bed while care is applied along the spine line. The body settles first, before any skin work begins. Hand-applied skincare then moves to the décolleté and shoulders.
- Ondol floor care You change into comfortable clothing and lie on the traditional Ondol floor. Cleansing, exfoliation, treatment and hydration, sequenced for what was found and applied as gently as your skin condition allows. Premium and Body & Skin Care sessions include device-assisted care with an ampoule selected for your skin on the day.
- Aftercare Your therapist explains what they found — what to keep doing, what to stop, and which ingredients your skin responds to. Premium and Body & Skin Care guests receive the full written report by email within 48 hours.
- Tea, and no rush There is no alarm at the end. Stay for another cup of tea, ask questions about Korean skincare, take a photo with your therapist if you would like one. Many guests say this part is their favourite.

Laurel Studio is a boutique skincare studio with a calm, gallery-like atmosphere.
There are no robes, slippers or locker rooms.
Facial treatments take place on a traditional Korean Ondol floor rather than a treatment bed.
You will lie on a cushioned floor mat.
If you have mobility concerns or difficulty getting up from the floor, please contact us before booking so we can arrange an alternative.
The studio is on the 3rd floor of a building with an elevator.
EDIYA Coffee is on the 1st floor — that is how you will know you have the right building.

This is a skincare programme, not a massage service.
Signature Personal Care and Premium Personal Care are facial treatments.
Personal Body & Skin Care includes care along the spine line given by a warmed bed, hand-applied skincare on the décolleté and shoulders, and a full facial.
No option includes a full-body massage. All products are premium Made-in-Korea professional aesthetic skincare.
If you have known allergies or highly sensitive skin, please note this in the special requirements field when booking and your therapist will adjust the products.
Each treatment is built around your skin condition on the day of your visit.

Multilingual visual guide cards are used throughout the session, so you will understand every step clearly.
