It is the most central royal palace of the Joseon Dynasty and the first royal palace (the palace where the king lives), and it was the first palace built after the capital was moved to Hanyang in the 4th year of King Taejo (1395).
It is a place that served as the backdrop for numerous historical events, such as King Sejong's creation of Hangeul and the assassination of Empress Myeongseong.
It remains firmly established in the heart of Seoul as the most visited royal palace by foreigners to this day. - Bukchon Hanok Village :
Bukchon Hanok Village is a neighborhood lined with traditional Hanoks, boasting the 600-year history of the capital, and usually refers to the area extending from Gyeongbokgung Palace to Changdeokgung Palace.
