The 2024 Taitung International Balloon Festival is set to kick off in July! Running from 7/6 to 8/19, this annual summer event always draws huge crowds to the Luye Highlands in Taitung. Visitors spread out their picnic mats on the grass, waiting with anticipation and excitement as the hot air balloons slowly ascend!

• Blue Line Relief Train
  The Blue Line Relief Train was originally a Taiwan Railways Administration local train. After the railway electrification, it ceased operations, but was renovated and relaunched in 2021 under the name 'Blue Line Relief Train'. The interior design focuses on restoration, retaining the classic blue exterior, hanging rotating fans, iconic green seats, and manual door and window mechanisms. It perfectly recreates classic elements, and along the route, you can enjoy views of both the Taiwan Strait and the Pacific Ocean, earning it the reputation as the most beautiful railway in Taiwan.
  
  
• Taitung International Balloon Festival
  The 2024 Taitung Luye Highlands International Balloon Festival is about to open grandly! A variety of colorful hot air balloons will decorate the sky, creating a dazzling and breathtaking sight. In addition to tethered balloon rides, there will be spectacular light shows, music concerts, drone performances, and fireworks. • Tiehua Music Village
  Tiehua Music Village was originally the old Taitung train station. Through the joint efforts of the county government and the local community, it has successfully transformed into a hub for cultural creativity and trends in Taitung. Strolling through the village at night, decorated with painted hot air balloons, has become a must-do activity when visiting Taitung. The Tiehua New Cluster includes the TTstyle Original House, also known as the 'Wave House', which is a great photo spot. The village hosts various music programs, creative handicraft workshops, and specialty food markets from time to time, filling Taitung with fun and creative energy!
  
  
• Shanyuan Marine Protected Area
  Shanyuan Marine Protected Area boasts rich marine ecology and a stunning coastline. To protect diverse marine life, fishing is prohibited here, allowing coral reefs and tropical fish to flourish. This is also a paradise for diving and snorkeling enthusiasts, offering a close-up view of the colorful underwater world. • Dawu Heart South Link Station
  Dawu Heart South Link Station covers a vast area. In addition to its 560-ping, two-story building, it can accommodate 78 motorcycles, 112 cars, and 17 buses, rivaling the scale of highway rest stops. As the largest rest stop in Taitung County and one of the few large-scale rest points on the South Link Highway, it features shops, scenic restaurants, and ocean-view cafes. It takes full advantage of its location by the fishing port, allowing travelers to relax while enjoying the magnificent ocean views.
