The Gokasho Kondo district of Higashiomi City is the birthplace of the Omi merchants, famous for their philosophy of 'Sanpo-yoshi' (three-way satisfaction).
In the rural area spreading to the east of Lake Biwa, there is a beautiful townscape where the main residences of Omi merchants, who made their fortunes by traveling as peddlers, harmonize with traditional farmhouses.

You will stroll through this townscape, which is registered as a Nationally Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings, wearing a kimono prepared specifically for this tour. Feel the teachings of the Omi merchants that connect to modern SDGs. For dinner, you will enjoy the rich bounty unique to Omi, including Omi beef, one of Japan's three great wagyu brands, lake fish cuisine, and a wide variety of local sake, at your accommodation, which is a renovated Omi merchant residence rented out as a single unit (with commentary from the head chef!).

This 2-day trip allows you to fully enjoy the Koto region, including visits to 'Tarobo-gu Shrine, which enshrines the god of victory,' a rare 'swordsmith' workshop, a fruit sundae making experience using local ingredients, and La Collina, famous for its baumkuchen.

*The fruit sundae making experience may use ingredients from outside the local area depending on availability.
*Except for the sake and soft drinks served at dinner, drinks for other meals are not included. You can order them and pay on-site.
