This 2-hour walking tour is a must-do for history buffs interested in the history of Italy in the years 1940–1945. We will tell you the full story of the country's involvement in WWII, introducing you to important events and characters like Benito Mussolini. You will learn about the spread of fascism in Italy, the invasions of France, North and East Africa, the Mediterranean, the Balkans, and their aftermath. The guide will share interesting facts about the relationship between Mussolini and Hitler, and also explain how Italy, a member of the Axis Powers, surrendered to Allied Forces.

Places of interest include the Holocaust Deportation Memorial at the train station, which commemorates the people deported to Nazi concentration camps. You will pass the landmark Basilica of Santa Maria Novella and head to the picturesque Ponte Vecchio, which was the only bridge not destroyed by German mines in 1944.
