The Biscuit rose: a legend born out of a happy coincidence Around 1690, bakers in Champagne created a recipe to take advantage of the heat of the bread oven after baking: the "bis-cuit" (baked twice) of Reims was born!
The characteristic pink color comes from an accident: to hide the brown marks left by the vanilla, the baker added a natural dye made from cochineal.
Since then, the recipe has remained unchanged, as has the double-baking method.
Label of excellence: Maison Fossier was awarded the "Living Heritage Company" label in 2006, recognizing its exceptional know-how.
Champagne tradition: The Biscuit Rose is traditionally enjoyed dipped in champagne or red wine.
Photography permitted: Capture your gourmet tour!
Gift idea: The factory outlet offers many gourmet boxes and arrangements that are perfect as gifts.
