The Co-Creative Experience (Ages 16 and over)
Experience the authentic thrill of shaping Murano glass at melting furnace temperatures! In this exclusive workshop (maximum 4 participants), you won't be just a simple spectator, but will co-create your own piece of jewelry together with the master glassmaker.
You will design and create a unique pendant by combining the precision of cold working with the power of fire. It is an intense and fascinating experience, designed for adults and young people aged 16 and over who want to feel the energy of live glass in their hands.
How the workshop is run:
Step 1: The Cold Mosaic
You will begin by creating the design of your pendant. You will have a selection of precious traditional murrine and pieces of colored glass at your disposal. You will arrange the elements cold, composing the pattern and color combination that you prefer.
Step 2: Melting at 900∘C and Hot Shaping
Once the design is complete, the piece will be placed in the muffle furnace, where it will reach a temperature of 900∘C to melt. This is where the real magic begins: with my constant supervision and assistance, I will remove the glowing pendant from the furnace. Using specific tools of the trade, you will work on the red-hot glass yourself to start giving it shape. This fascinating process of removing, shaping, and reinserting the piece into the oven will be repeated several times until the pendant has reached the perfect shape you want.
️ Safety First
Working with hot glass requires respect and care. The activity will take place in complete safety: you will be provided with all the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including thermal protective goggles and special gloves resistant to high temperatures. I will be by your side every single moment to guide your hands.
⚠️ Important Information for Collection and Annealing
Pick-up after 2 days: After hot shaping, the pendant must undergo a very slow and controlled annealing cycle inside the oven to eliminate the internal stresses of the glass and prevent it from breaking. For this reason, the pendant will be ready for pick-up 2 days after the workshop.
✈️ Shipping Option: If your travel plans don't allow you to return to the workshop after two days, no problem! I can ship your finished and polished pendant directly to your home (shipping cost not included).
