Experience the incredible Columbia Icefield, one of the largest icefields in North America. See the famous Athabasca Glacier up close and visit the Glacier Discovery Centre. Choose to join the optional Ice Explorer adventure, a specially built vehicle designed to travel directly onto the glacier. During the winter season, when the Icefield attractions are closed, alternative stops may include Lake Louise and Marble Canyon.

Travel along the Icefields Parkway and stop at the impressive Crowfoot Glacier, hanging high on the side of Crowfoot Mountain. Named for its once three-toed “crow’s foot” appearance, the glacier remains a powerful reminder of the Rockies’ ancient glacial landscape. It’s a fantastic viewpoint to enjoy the rugged mountain scenery and capture memorable photos.

Surrounded by untouched wilderness, Waterfowl Lake is one of the quieter hidden gems along the Parkway. The calm turquoise water beautifully reflects the surrounding peaks, including the stunning Mount Chephren. This peaceful stop offers a chance to relax, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and enjoy the natural beauty away from the crowds.

Take a short scenic walk to the famous Peyto Lake viewpoint, known worldwide for its striking blue color and unique wolf-head shape. Fed by glacial waters, the lake’s vibrant turquoise shade is especially stunning on sunny days. The panoramic viewpoint overlooking the valley and mountains makes this one of the most unforgettable photo stops in the Rockies.

Throughout the day, enjoy nonstop mountain scenery featuring dramatic peaks, waterfalls, forests, and glacier-fed rivers. Every section of the drive offers postcard-worthy landscapes, making the journey itself just as memorable as the destinations.
