Begin your adventure with a short transfer from Ruka to Pyhävaara hill, part of the Valtavaara-Pyhävaara Nature Reserve. Known for its impressive hill landscapes, Pyhävaara was once a Sami place of worship, with “pyhä” meaning “holy” in Finnish.
Receive all the necessary equipment and set off on a guided snowshoe hike. Explore the stunning natural surroundings, with the opportunity to experience the unique beauty of the area in different seasons. In December and January, enjoy the magical dusk; in February, catch a breathtaking sunset; and in March, revel in the long daylight.
Reach the top of the hill and savor a warm juice and a small snack, taking in the panoramic views. This hike requires good basic fitness, as part of the journey is uphill.
