Visit Harjula Farm in Posio and experience authentic farm life in Finnish Lapland.

During this relaxed and family-friendly visit, you’ll meet our sheep, cats, chickens, and energetic Border Collies. Spend time with the animals, learn about daily life on a working sheep farm, and discover what it takes to care for animals in the Arctic.

Our sheep are curious and friendly, and if they’re in the mood, they may even come over for some scratches and attention. The Border Collies are usually much less selective and are always happy to receive plenty of pats and admiration.

Depending on the day’s activities, you may also have the opportunity to watch the dogs demonstrate their natural herding skills and learn how they help manage the flock. Activities involving animals are always conducted with the animals’ welfare as the highest priority. Therefore, demonstrations and interactions may occasionally be modified according to weather conditions and the animals’ needs.
This experience offers a genuine glimpse into rural Finnish life and is perfect for families, animal lovers, photographers, and anyone looking for authentic experiences beyond the typical tourist attractions.

Located at the foot of Riisitunturi National Park, Harjula Farm offers not only friendly animals but also some of the most breathtaking scenery in the region. Here, life moves a little slower, the forests stretch to the horizon, and the focus is on simple moments, nature, and genuine connections.
