상품 설명

Half Day: The Legend of the Birdman

Delve into the spirituality and worldview of Rapa Nui through one of its most enigmatic traditions: the Tangata Manu (Birdman), a rite that decided who would be the island's new spiritual leader.

The tour begins at the ceremonial village of Orongo, located at the top of the Rano Kau volcano. There, among stone houses and petroglyphs, the sacred Birdman competition was held every year. The participants would jump into the ocean and swim towards the islets in search of the first egg of the manutara, a feat fraught with risk and difficulty. The victorious clan gained power and prestige, shaping the spiritual destiny of the entire community.

We will continue to admire the imposing crater of Rano Kau, a landscape that connects nature and mysticism, where the inner lagoon and the cliffs seem to hold the secrets of ancient generations.

Later, we'll visit Vinapu, a ceremonial site famous for its perfectly carved stone walls, whose precision has sparked comparisons with Inca constructions, leaving a halo of mystery about possible ancestral contacts.

Finally, we'll arrive at Ahu Huri a Urenga, an altar with a unique moai: it's the only one on the island with four hands and has a special value within the tradition and spiritual organization of Rapa Nui.

This sightseeing tour is an invitation to relive the strength, mystery, and faith that shaped life in Rapa Nui for centuries.
