Travel by comfortable minibus from Oppdal into the dramatic mountain landscape of Sunndal, often known as the Kingdom of the Waterfalls. Along the way, experience steep valleys, rushing rivers, impressive waterfalls and magnificent views of the surrounding mountains.
Visit Klevgardan, where you can see the cableway that crosses over to Hulberget and learn more about how people have lived and worked in this rugged landscape. The journey then continues into the beautiful Grødalen valley, surrounded by high mountains and traditional farming areas.
Travel farther into the valley to Gammelsætra and Middagsjelan, where you can enjoy the peaceful surroundings, take photographs and experience the distinctive scenery at close range. Selected stops give you time to step outside and appreciate the nature instead of simply viewing it through the minibus window.
The tour also includes a visit to Vangshaugen Tourist Lodge, beautifully situated in Grødalen. Here, you can experience the atmosphere of a traditional Norwegian mountain lodge and enjoy its scenic surroundings.
Throughout the journey, discover the landscape associated with Lady Barbara Arbuthnott, whose life and legacy are an important part of Sunndal’s local history. After visiting the waterfalls, valleys, mountain farms and historic locations, return comfortably to Oppdal.
