My name is Kilian Mégret, and I have been living in Lausanne and its surroundings for 17 years. I speak French, English, and German, and I love sharing all the fascinating aspects of my city with visitors. As a frequent traveler, I know how important it is to connect authentically with a place. I am also an engineer, which allows me to bring a detailed perspective on Lausanne’s infrastructure, architecture, and urban development.
My goal is simple: to help you discover Lausanne as you would with a local friend—through a walk that blends culture, history, anecdotes, and today’s vibrant life.
Small groups (usually 4, max 10) ⏱️ Duration: 2–3 hours, depending on your pace and interests. Languages: mainly English (French and German available on request). Meeting point: in front of the Starbucks, Place St-François Lausanne
Together we’ll explore Lausanne’s highlights and hidden gems, such as: ⛪ St. François Square and its church – a lively central hub of the city ️Rue du Bourg & Rue du Rotillon – charming medieval and commercial streets Rue Centrale & Pont Bessières – a 20th-century street and bridge Lausanne Cathedral – a Gothic masterpiece with breathtaking views St-Maire Castle and the Parliament – historic seats of power Palais de Rumine – a wonderful palace for sciences ⏰ Palud Square & Town Hall – the civic heart with its famous clock Flon district – modern architecture, street art, and lively culture (If we have the time) Montbenon Hill – a leisure spot with park, courthouse, and lake views
