Step into a Viennese home kitchen and experience one of Austria's most famous traditions: baking the legendary Sachertorte.

In this small-group, hands-on workshop, you will prepare this classic Austrian chocolate cake from scratch while learning the techniques behind its rich chocolate sponge, apricot filling, and signature chocolate glaze. You'll also assemble your own individual mini Sachertorte to decorate and take home as a sweet souvenir of your time in Vienna.

As we bake together, you will discover the fascinating history of Vienna's famous coffeehouse culture and the traditions behind Austria's beloved desserts. I will also share personal recommendations for cafés, restaurants, and hidden gems to help you make the most of your time in Vienna.

After baking, we will sit down and enjoy your homemade Sachertorte together with freshly roasted Viennese coffee and soft drinks in a relaxed local atmosphere.

You will leave with your own handcrafted mini Sachertorte, the recipe, new baking skills, and a deeper understanding of Vienna's culinary heritage - plus local tips to help you explore the city like a resident.

Meeting point & important information

The workshop takes place in a private home kitchen in Vienna, approximately 15 minutes' walk from Schönbrunn Palace and 15 minutes by public transport from the city center.

The workshop is held in English. Private workshops in other languages may be available on request.

Small groups ensure a personal and relaxed experience.

No previous baking experience is required — beginners and experienced bakers are both welcome.
