On arrival at Skaftafell Terminal, you will check in with our reception staff and meet your pilot, who will go over the flight route and perform a short safety briefing before the flight. He will then escort you onto the tarmac where you will board your airplane. Immediately after taking off, you get to experience all the area has to offer. From the airplane, you can see black sand beaches to the south and west, majestic glacial riverbeds weaving abstract patterns in the sand, many of Vatnajökull Glacier's outlet glaciers to the north, and lush green hills with hiking trails at Skaftafell Nature Reserve. On this trip, you might see Skeiðarárjökull glacier, Öræfajökull glacier, Skeiðarársandur black sand beach, glacial riverbeds, Hvannadalshnjúkur (Iceland‘s highest point) along with many other amazing sights before landing back at Skaftafell Terminal.
