This is a combo experience made up of two back-to-back tours, each with its own guide and departure point. Your day starts with a boat trip from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík for close-up puffin watching on the water. After returning to the harbour, your Golden Circle guide picks you up there between 12:00 and 12:30 PM for the afternoon (Thingvellir National Park, the Geysir geothermal area, Gullfoss waterfall, and Kerid crater)

*Morning: Puffin Watching*
Your day starts at the Old Harbour (Geirsgata 11, 101 Reykjavík) in downtown Reykjavík, where you will board Old Skúli, a traditional Icelandic boat built for getting close to the birds. Sail out toward the puffin-watching area, about 15 minutes from shore, with views of the city and Mount Esja opening up behind you. Keep an eye out for whales, seals, and other seabirds along the way.
The small islands around Reykjavík are home to around 30,000 nesting puffins, who return from the open ocean each summer to raise their chicks among the rugged cliffs. Most boats have to keep their distance. Old Skúli is designed to get you closer. The engine cuts off near the colony so the birds aren't disturbed, and one of our local guides will walk you through puffin behaviour and point out any other species you spot.

*Afternoon: Golden Circle*
After the boat returns to the Old Harbour, your Golden Circle guide will meet you at Bus Stop 4 - Miðbakki, between 12:00 and 12:30 PM for the second half of your day.
First stop is Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site sitting on the rift between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. The landscape here is unlike anywhere else — and this is also where Iceland's ancient parliament, the Alþingi, met for centuries.
From there, you'll head to the Geysir geothermal area, where Strokkur erupts boiling water up to 25 m (82 ft) into the air every 8 to 10 minutes. The surrounding field of sulfurous mud pots, steam vents, and hot springs is worth exploring on its own.
Next is Gullfoss, Iceland's most visited waterfall. "Golden Falls" in English — the name earns itself when the afternoon light hits the water right.
The day ends at Kerið crater lake, a vivid volcanic crater filled with striking red rock walls and an aquamarine lake at its base. A short walk around the rim gives you the full picture.
