Enter the fascinating world of rum during an immersive workshop in the heart of Paris. Guided by a renowned expert, you'll discover the history, origins and production secrets of this iconic spirit. This experience is for everyone, whether you're a novice or an enthusiast looking to deepen your knowledge.
Start by exploring the rich history of rum, its Caribbean origins, and its evolution around the world. Learn to distinguish the three main types of rum — French, Hispanic, and Anglo-Saxon — and understand how sugar cane, molasses, distillation processes, and aging influence each style.
The workshop alternates between theory, fun discussions, and tastings to help you develop your vocabulary and tasting skills. You will taste five carefully selected rums, including: Clément Canne Bleue (Martinique), Hampden 8 Year Old (Jamaica), Zacapa Edicion Negra (Guatemala), JM VSOP (Martinique), and Planteray XO (Barbados). You will be provided with a tasting notebook to record your impressions and progress in the art of tasting.
The workshop takes place in a warm and welcoming space, conducive to discovery and conviviality. At the end of the session, you stay on site, right in the center of Paris, which is ideal for continuing your exploration of the city or enjoying your newfound knowledge over a drink.
