상품 설명

Discover the story of the Battle of Vimy Ridge by e‑bike, focusing not only on the Canadian National Vimy Memorial but on the preserved battlefield landscape surrounding it. This guided tour begins in Givenchy en Gohelle, where you’re fitted with an electric bike, receive a short orientation, and set out on an easy, interpretation-led route designed for reflection rather than speed.

Up to the ridge we go, where you get a guided tour of the Vimy Memorial. You ride through the protected park terrain along quiet paved roads and cycling paths. The route is flat and fully on paved surfaces with one short wooded section, making it accessible for riders with basic cycling ability. With electric assistance, the pace remains unhurried, leaving space to absorb the scenery and the meaning embedded in the land itself. As you pass crater fields and shell holes—now softened by grass and grazing sheep—your guide brings April 1917 into focus through clear, thoughtful storytelling.

Stops include two Commonwealth War Graves Canadian cemeteries to explore the human cost of the battle, a panoramic viewpoint to explain overall strategy and the 4th Canadian Division’s role, a stop at the preserved trench lines (you can dismount & go explore) where the 3rd Division’s advance is discussed. You’ll also stop at the 3rd Division Monument, marking their final objective, before finishing near the memorial for photographs.

Then down the ridge we go through the quaint village of Givenchy en Gohelle with its Canadian flags, maple leaf signs & poppy sculptures, monuments and frescoes, before returning to the starting point.

Along the way, you’ll learn why Vimy Ridge was strategically important, how the four Canadian divisions fought together for the first time, and how the site evolved into a place of national memory.

Enjoy a gourmet Poppy Picnic to round out your Vimy experience and/or a vineyard visit and wine tasting right on Vimy Ridge, a 15-minute cycle from the Vimy Visitors Centre. Vineyard visit and wine tasting available to September 5th, 2026. Poppy Picnic available year round.

Round trip transfer from Arras available for up to four guests, maximum number of guest is six.
