It is located in the south of Leipzig in the vicinity of the Monument to the Battle of the Nations and, alongside the Ohlsdorf Cemetery in Hamburg and the Südwestkirchhof in Stahnsdorf near Berlin is one of the largest park-like cemeteries in Germany.
