Day 1: Cape Town to Inverdoorn Game Reserve
Begin your safari adventure with a pickup from selected Cape Town hotels or a designated meeting point. Travel through the scenic Cape Winelands and the dramatic landscapes of the Hex River Valley before entering the vast semi-arid Karoo region.
Upon arrival at Inverdoorn Private Game Reserve, enjoy a welcome drink and check in to your accommodation. The reserve is renowned for its conservation initiatives and is home to the Big Five as well as numerous other wildlife species.
After settling into your room, enjoy a delicious lunch before preparing for your first safari activity. In the late afternoon, depart on a shared open-vehicle game drive accompanied by an experienced ranger. Search for lions, elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, springbok, eland, wildebeest, ostriches, and numerous bird species while learning about the reserve's wildlife and conservation efforts.
As the sun begins to set over the Karoo landscape, enjoy exceptional photographic opportunities before returning to the lodge. Dinner is served in the main restaurant followed by free time to relax around the lodge or enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Day 2: Horseback Riding and Big Five Safari Experience
Wake to the sounds of the African wilderness and enjoy breakfast overlooking the reserve. Today's highlight is a guided horseback riding experience through designated areas of the reserve. Accompanied by professional guides, explore the beautiful Karoo landscape from a unique perspective. Horseback riding allows guests to experience nature at a slower pace while appreciating the reserve's remarkable scenery and wildlife.
The horseback activity is suitable for beginners and experienced riders alike. Safety briefings and equipment are provided before departure. Following the ride, return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch.
During the afternoon, embark on another shared game drive across the reserve. This additional safari provides further opportunities to encounter the Big Five and observe wildlife behaviors that vary throughout the day.
Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner. As darkness falls, the Karoo sky reveals one of South Africa's finest stargazing experiences. With minimal light pollution, admire an incredible display of stars and constellations.
Day 3: Morning Safari and Return to Cape Town
Start the day with an early morning safari when wildlife activity is often at its peak. The cool temperatures provide excellent opportunities to observe predators returning from their nocturnal activities and herbivores beginning their day across the reserve. Following the game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast and check-out. Enjoy some final relaxation time before departing the reserve. Begin the return journey through the picturesque landscapes of the Western Cape, arriving back in Cape Town during the afternoon.
