Day 1
Step far beyond the usual sightseeing routes and immerse yourself in the real heart of rural Uzbekistan on this unforgettable 3-day journey through the Nurota Mountains.
After morning pickup from your hotel in Samarkand, travel comfortably through changing landscapes toward the remote mountain villages of the Nurota region. Upon arrival, you'll be welcomed by a local host/guide and begin exploring authentic village life. The first day is dedicated to hiking through peaceful mountain paths, observing daily rural activities, and experiencing firsthand traditions — including cow milking and other aspects of local life that offer a genuine connection to the community.
One of the true highlights of this experience is that traditional Uzbek cooking is already included in the tour price — unlike many tours where these activities are sold separately. Together with the locals, you will witness and take part in the preparation of authentic Uzbek plov, cooked slowly over an open fire. Share dinner with your hosts and gain a deep understanding of local customs, hospitality, and everyday life.
Day 2
After an overnight stay in a cozy village guesthouse, continue your adventure on the second day with a long scenic horseback ride through forests and mountain trails to another village. A guided hike offers panoramic views and, with some luck, the chance to observe rare wildlife such as Severtsov's urial in its natural habitat.
Aydarkul Lake: Enjoy lunch near the lakeshore with the chance to swim if weather conditions allow. (The Yurt Camp may adjust the lunch location to the camp area if necessary.)
Yurt Camp Experience: Upon arrival, you may try camel riding, take in the spectacular desert sunset, and relax before dinner. In the evening, gather around the fire to enjoy traditional songs performed by local nomads. Later, admire the star-filled sky and the visible Milky Way in the clear desert atmosphere.
Overnight in a traditional yurt.
Day 3
Breakfast at the camp followed by leisure time to walk across the sand dunes and enjoy the tranquil desert environment.
Nurota: Visit the historical complex featuring the remains of an ancient fortress traditionally linked to Alexander the Great. The site also includes two 16th-century mosques and a sacred spring-fed pond inhabited by protected fish.
Departure toward Bukhara (approximately 270 km, 4–5 hours by car).
The journey concludes with a comfortable transfer directly to your hotel in Bukhara, making this tour a seamless combination of adventure, culture, authentic experiences, and convenient transportation.
