Day 1: Bucharest → Târgoviște → Breaza → Valea Doftanei
Begin your journey in Bucharest and head to Târgoviște, the former medieval capital of Wallachia. Visit the Royal Court and Chindia Tower, soaking in the rich history of the region.
Enjoy a traditional lunch in Breaza or Câmpina, with options like sarmale, ciorbă de burtă, or homemade pies. Continue to the picturesque mountain village of Valea Doftanei. Take a leisurely walk through the area and visit local sheepfolds (if the season allows).
In the evening, settle into a traditional wooden guesthouse and savor a dinner of local specialties like bulz, cheeses, and trout.
Day 2: Valea Doftanei → Saxon Villages → Viscri
Travel to Transylvania, stopping in Fundata, Romania’s highest village, for breathtaking views. Enjoy a homemade lunch in a Saxon village household (Hărman or Prejmer).
Visit the UNESCO-listed Fortified Church in Prejmer. Continue to Viscri, one of the most beautiful Saxon villages, known for its architecture and supported by King Charles III.
Stay overnight in a restored Saxon house and enjoy a traditional dinner featuring beef stew, homemade bread, and local pastries.
Day 3: Viscri → Sighișoara → Bucharest
Head to Sighișoara for a guided tour of the medieval citadel, Clock Tower, and Vlad Dracul’s House. Enjoy a Transylvanian lunch in the citadel.
Return to Bucharest, with a possible stop at Dealu Mare wineries for a wine tasting if time permits.
