Itinerary
8:00 AM – Hotel pickup in Quito Meet your guide and depart by private transportation toward Mindo. The journey takes approximately 2:15 hours.
10:20 AM – Mindo-Nambillo Waterfalls Sanctuary: guided cloud-forest experience (approximately 2 hours) Arrive at the Mindo-Nambillo Waterfalls Sanctuary and begin a guided exploration of the cloud forest. Your guide will accompany you along the forest trails, helping you observe and learn about the local flora and fauna, including orchids, bromeliads, native trees, birds and other wildlife.
During the experience, cross the forest using the traditional tarabita and walk along trails leading to beautiful waterfalls. Your guide will explain the natural environment and help you make the most of the experience, with time for observation and photography.
12:30 PM – Return to Mindo village Return to the town with your guide and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Your guide can recommend local dishes and assist with ordering. Lunch is not included unless specified in the selected option.
1:00 PM – Afternoon optional guided activity (approximately 1 hour) Choose how to continue your Mindo experience according to your interests and availability:
* Birdwatching: visit a local bird sanctuary with your guide to observe and identify hummingbirds and other cloud-forest species. * Chocolate experience: visit a local chocolate workshop with your guide to learn about cacao and the chocolate-making process.
2:30 PM – Return to Quito Depart Mindo in private transportation with your guide.
Approximately 4:30 PM – Arrival in Quito Drop-off at your hotel marks the end of the experience.
The itinerary may be adjusted slightly according to weather conditions, wildlife activity and the group’s interests while maintaining the included activities.
