Embark on an exciting snorkeling adventure at Las Catalinas Islands, renowned for some of the best snorkeling in Costa Rica. With over 12 exceptional sites, Las Catalinas offers year-round snorkeling opportunities teeming with marine life.

Snorkelers are supervised in the water by a professional guide for your safety and enjoyment.

You can choose a convenient pickup from several locations between Tamarindo and Flamingo or, drive and meet us directly at the activity center at 7:30am. Following the required administration and transfer to the marina, enjoy a scenic 30 minute boat ride out to the islands. Enjoy two snorkeling sessions in the warm waters, where you can encounter giant Pacific manta rays, whitetip reef sharks, eagle rays, schooling jacks and grunts, moray eels and much more. During the winter months from December to May, manta rays are frequently spotted, while humpback whales grace the waters from February to March and July to October, often delighting snorkelers as they breach the surface.

Las Catalinas sites are accessible to snorkelers and divers from various popular locations, including Tamarindo, Reserva Conchal, Brasilito, Playa Flamingo, Surf Side, Potrero, and Las Catalinas Resort. If you are not driving and need assistance reaching the activity center, a shuttle bus is available, or we can arrange a private pick-up.

After two exhilarating snorkeling experiences, the boat returns to the marina around 1pm, leaving you with the rest of the day to explore or relax. Join us for an incredible day of snorkeling and scenic cruising.
