We got tired of traditional coffee tours that feel like they're set up just for tourists, so we decided to create something different: an authentic experience on a real, operating coffee farm.
This is not a recreated attraction or a demonstration prepared for visitors. It's an active farm where coffee is grown, processed, and alive every day of the year.
Our tour guide will welcome you and take you on a tour of the coffee plantations while explaining each stage of the coffee process: from planting and growing the plant to harvesting the fruit.
During the tour, you'll get a close-up look at the reality of a productive farm, including the areas where the pickers work and rest, and you'll understand the importance of their work within the entire Costa Rican coffee chain.
You'll then visit the mill, where you'll discover how freshly harvested coffee is processed, sorted by size, density, and color, and prepared for its drying and roasting stages.
Finally, you'll take part in a guided coffee tasting experience, where you'll learn to identify the aromas, flavors, and characteristics that make Costa Rican coffee one of the most renowned in the world. And yes… there will be plenty of coffee to taste.
As this is a real farm in operation all year round, it's very likely that during your visit you'll see workers doing maintenance, pruning coffee trees, picking coffee in season, trucks unloading the fresh harvest, or the processing machinery in operation.
And that's exactly what makes this experience special.
Here, we don't show you a tourist version of Costa Rican coffee. We show you the reality.
