Begin your day with a pickup from your hotel in San José, Alajuela, or Heredia. Travel in a semi private, comfortable vehicle to Irazú Volcano National Park. Drive up through cloud forest and farmland to the summit crater. Spend approximately 90 minutes exploring the main crater and Diego de la Haya crater.

Next, visit a working rose greenhouse in Llano Grande de Cartago. See how roses are grown at altitude, meet the family owners, and optionally purchase a fresh bouquet directly from the farm.

Continue to the Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels, Costa Rica's most important religious site. Take a guided tour of the basilica, including the crypt of La Negrita and the sacred spring where pilgrims collect holy water.
