Explore El Chaltén: Full Day Self-Guided Tour｜Argentina

At 7:00 AM, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in El Calafate to start the journey to El Chaltén. Traveling along the legendary Route 40, we’ll skirt the southern shore of Lake Argentino and cross the Santa Cruz and La Leona rivers, enjoying classic Patagonian landscapes along the way.

After a brief stop near La Leona to stretch our legs, we’ll continue toward Lake Viedma, with breathtaking views of the Andes Mountains in the distance. By mid-morning, we’ll arrive at the mountain village of El Chaltén, the gateway to Los Glaciares National Park and Argentina’s trekking capital.

Once there, you’ll have the day free to explore on your own. You can choose from several self-guided trails of varying lengths and difficulty, such as the trail to the Condor Lookout or the walk to Chorrillo del Salto waterfall. The stunning views of Mount Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre, the fresh mountain air, and the peaceful atmosphere make for an unforgettable day.

At 3:00 PM, we will meet again to begin the return trip to El Calafate.
