Eswatini: 3-Day Hike to Execution Rock, Sibebe Rock & Falls｜Eswatini

Begin your journey at Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, one of Eswatini’s most accessible and wildlife-rich parks. Start your day early as you prepare to hike towards one of the area’s most iconic landmarks—Execution Rock. Along the way, encounter a wide variety of animals including zebras, impalas, and warthogs

As you make your way to the top of Execution Rock, the surrounding landscape opens up before your eyes. When you finally reach the summit, be rewarded with a sweeping aerial view of the Gables and the entire Ezulwini Valley.

On your second day, set your sights on the towering Sibebe Rock, the second-largest exposed granite dome in the world. Located just outside of Mbabane, this massive formation is not only a natural wonder but also a place steeped in legend and geological significance.

The hike up Sibebe Rock is moderately challenging, with steep and uneven sections, but the panoramic views from the top make every bit of effort worth it. As you ascend, take a moment to learn about the history and cultural importance of Sibebe to the Swazi people. Once at the top, explore some of the natural caves hidden in the rock face.

After your descent, reward yourself with a relaxing lunch or coffee at the nearby Sibebe Resort. The tranquil atmosphere and beautiful setting make it the perfect spot to unwind after your challenging climb.

On the final day, head to Malolotja Nature Reserve, known for its rugged terrain, diverse flora and fauna, and breathtaking waterfalls. Begin your hike on one of the many trails that wind through the reserve’s mountainous terrain. As you walk, pass through valleys, cross streams, and encounter an array of wildlife including eland, baboons, and colorful bird species.

The trail eventually leads you to one of the most stunning waterfalls in the country, cascading dramatically down the cliffside into a crystal-clear pool below.
