Early morning your driver guide will pick you up from your hotel/Airport in Kigali at 4:30 am, short briefing about your tour and then drive to Volcanoes National Park the home of Golden monkey this takes 2.5 hours. On arrival, proceed to the park's office for briefing at 7:00am.
Your driver guide will then transfer to the starting point, The trekking usually takes between 1 to 3 hours, once you come to the habituated families, you will spend the allowed one hour with the golden monkeys as they go about their daily life.
There are two habituated groups of golden monkeys, one group comprises around 80 to 100 members and has its home at the foot of Mount Sabyinyo. Golden monkey characterized by its bright golden body, cheeks and tail, these playful primates are a pleasure to watch.
After your golden monkey tracking experience at Volcanoes National Park, you will drive a short journey to Gorilla Guardians Village that's known as "Ibyiwacu culture village" for culture and heritage experience.

It is often called “baby trekking” because it involves shorter hikes, less steep terrain, and the monkeys are more active and playful, making it less physically demanding than tracking Mountain Gorilla.
Know Before You Go: You still need hiking shoes, a rain jacket, and basic forest gear, but overall the experience is quicker, more relaxed, and suitable for most fitness levels.
