This tour offers an original experience by combining the culture of rum with local crafts, allowing visitors to discover both the spirit heritage of Martinique and AOC rums and the second life of the barrels that contributed to the aging of its great rums.
1st step – Pick-up from your resort or your cruise ship during a stopover in Martinique.
2nd stop - Discovering the world of rum
Visitors are welcomed in a space entirely dedicated to rum.
The Program:
History of rum in Martinique. Discovering the different stages of production. The special traits of AOC Martinique agricultural rum. Presentation of the different families of rum. Tasting with commentary
A guided tasting will allow visitors to discover the aromas and particularities of several selected vintages. A complimentary snack is provided.
Step 3 – Massif Déco Workshop
The art of giving barrels a second life
Visit to a craft workshop that specializes in making furniture from old rum barrels.
Visitors will discover:
woodworking, the transformation of barrels, the different stages of production, unique creations.
A moment of discussion with the craftsman will allow you to better understand this local cooperage expertise.
4th stop – Relaxation at Anse Mabouya
To end this experience, head to Anse Mabouya, one of the most beautiful beaches on the Caribbean coast in the municipality of Sainte Luce.
On the agenda:
swimming in turquoise water, a moment of relaxation on a fine sand beach, opportunity to take photos in an exceptional natural setting, free time to enjoy the peace and beauty of the coastline.
