Exceptional Trip to the Heart of Benin – Vodun Days & Living Traditions

Discover Benin, a land of souls and traditions, where culture and spirituality vibrate with every step. For 8 days and 7 nights, you'll experience a rare immersion in the heart of the Vodun cult, between ancestral ceremonies, preserved nature, and authentic encounters. This exceptional trip invites you to feel the power of a unique intangible heritage, carried by the fervor of Vodun Days, a major spiritual and artistic celebration in southern Benin.

With our VIP support, you'll enjoy top-notch comfort throughout your stay:
Private van with driver, dedicated French-speaking guide, full board with tasty local meals, and exclusive fast pass for easy access to ceremonies and activities.
An intimate journey, limited to 12 participants, designed to combine immersion, comfort, and strong emotions.

The adventure kicks off in Cotonou, a bustling capital where urban art and modernity mingle with tradition. The next day, head to Ganvié, the "African Venice." Hop on a traditional canoe and explore this 17th-century lakeside village, where you'll find houses on stilts, fishermen, and peaceful scenes of life along the water.

The road continues to Ouidah, a place of memory and spirituality. You'll explore the Slave Route, the Temple of Pythons, and the Door of No Return, symbols of African history and resilience. This is where the heart of Vodun Days beats: processions, dances, masks, and ceremonies will immerse you in the mystical world of the Vodun cult. With your guide, you'll understand the symbolic power of these living traditions. In the evening, a Beninese cooking workshop will round off this day packed with emotions.

The next few days are all about the villages of Gogotinkpon and Sè, where you'll discover the true guardians of ancestral know-how. You'll take part in a purifying clay bath, an introduction to traditional baby care, and a pottery workshop with local artisans. Genuine and deeply human moments, all set against a backdrop of lush greenery.

Then, head to Porto-Novo, the historic and royal capital. You'll visit the Palais Honmè, sail the Black River in a canoe, discover the Afro-Brazilian neighborhoods, and vibrate to the rhythm of sacred drums during an unforgettable musical evening.

Back in Cotonou, you'll wrap up your immersion with a local culinary experience: preparing and tasting the famous yam pilage. You'll have the afternoon free to stroll through the craft markets or enjoy a final moment of relaxation. You'll find the comfort of La Maison Rouge, your charming boutique hotel, before your return flight the next day.

This stay is more than just a trip: it's a meeting with the soul of Benin, a deep link between culture, nature, and spirituality. You'll come back transformed, your eyes and heart filled with faces, songs, and colors.
