상품 설명
St. John's Walking Tour — Scenic, Historical, Cultural & Fun Discover the heart of Antigua on a guided walking tour through our capital city, St. John's — where centuries of history, culture, and local color come alive. Museum of Antigua and Barbuda. We begin at the national museum, housed in the historic Court House building, where you'll explore the nation's heritage through artifacts, exhibits, and stories of island life. Also we will explore the outside where there is also plenty to take in around the grounds and the building itself. St. John's Anglican Cathedral Next, we visit the iconic cathedral — famously built on volcanic stone — and learn about its age, its architecture, and the fascinating history of the cemetery within its walls. Governor General's Residence We then stroll past the Governor General's quarters, taking in the grounds and the significance of this official residence. Antigua Recreation Grounds Our route brings us to Antigua's first-ever stadium, the Recreation Grounds — a site rich in sporting history and local pride. Her Majesty's Prison (1735) We walk by this historic prison, built in 1735, for a closer look at one of the island's oldest standing structures and the stories held within its walls. Main Fire Department We point out the central fire station along the way — a landmark of civic life in St. John's. Country Ponds We then take a leisurely stroll to the well-known Country Ponds, the historic watering holes where our ancestors drew water long before indoor plumbing reached our homes. Market Area & Sir Vere Cornwall Bird Statue We wind down at the bustling local market before visiting the statue of Papa Vere Cornwall Bird — Antigua's first Premier and first Prime Minister — a towering figure in the nation's journey to independence. Shopping We then stop at the St. John's Duty free area or The Star Times Gift Shop for 15 minutes for a small souvenir shopping. Return to Port We head back to the cruise port and the company's main office, where a refreshing rum punch or fruit punch awaits as part of your package. Please bring a bottle of water with you. Comfortable walking shoes and sun protection are also recommended.
