Take the memory of one deer you met in Nara Park and shape it in your own hands, in clay from Nara's own pottery tradition.
The angle of the neck, the expression, even the antlers are yours to decide, so no two pieces are ever the same.
After firing, it travels to you anywhere in the world at no extra cost - the memory of your trip arriving a second time, weeks later.
If time allows, walk through Nara Park before the workshop and find your favourite deer. (Free time, not included in the one-hour session.)
We begin with a cup of hojicha and a moment to let your shoulders drop.
You learn about the clay and the pottery you are about to work with, and hold a finished piece in your hands to picture your own deer before you touch the clay.
No pottery or art experience is needed. You shape the clay one stage at a time.
You settle the details - the tilt of the neck, the expression, the shape and size of the antlers - until the deer you remember is there in your hands.
After the session your piece is fired and finished in the kiln, and delivered to your home anywhere in the world in about six to eight weeks, at no extra cost.
Delivered to your home worldwide, with no shipping charge.
