One of the sightseeing tours preferred by travelers is the Maras and Moray tour, which allows them to enjoy the landscapes and experiences of these villages and their attractions. We will pick you up from your hotel at approximately 8:00 AM. We will travel in our tourist transportation for approximately 1 hour until we reach Chinchero, the land of the Rainbow, where we will make a stop at the Textile Center. Here you will have the opportunity to see demonstrations of handmade weaving, learn about natural dyes, and discover the symbolism and techniques that are passed down from generation to generation. We then continue to Moray, which is considered an Inca agricultural laboratory due to its circular terraces that were used for the cultivation and production of various products.
Then, we will head to the town of Maras (Villa San Francisco de Asís de Maras), an important local producer of salt. Here, we will learn about the surprising ingenuity and skill of the Incas in extracting this mineral, known as "the white gold of the Andes." The district of Maras was a mandatory stop for the muleteers who transported tropical products, especially coca leaves, from the high jungle to Cusco.
You will also visit the Salineras de Maras tourist attraction, which stands out for its history, mountainous landscapes, and local production. There, you will be able to see a group of more than 3,000 natural and ancestral salt wells that have been used since pre-Inca times. Then we return to the city of Cusco, arriving at approximately 2:30 PM, where the vehicle will drop us off 1 block from Plaza de Armas.
