Reach the top of San Miguel hill. Below the chapel is hidden the pre-Hispanic Teocalli temple, "The House of the Gods", dating back to 700 AD. The legend says the hill is inhabited by the Nahuales who transform themselves into owls to steal children. Every September 29, the devil comes out the chapel but San Miguel Arcangel, the commander of the heavenly armies, defeats him.
From the atrium of the chapel, get an impressive look at El Popo volcano, one of the most active volcanoes in the world.
