Next, visit the Gouverneto Monastery, a true spiritual sanctuary built in the 16th century. Walk through its peaceful grounds, admire the stone-carved architecture, and feel the mysticism of one of the oldest monastic sites in Crete.
Continue to the nearby Agia Triada Monastery, one of the most beautiful and active Orthodox monasteries in Greece. Surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, this monument reflects the influence of Venetian architecture and houses a small museum and shop with handmade products by the monks.
Arrive at Venizelos Graves, a tranquil hilltop site where two of Greece’s most influential politicians – Eleftherios and Sofoklis Venizelos – are buried. Enjoy breathtaking views of Chania city and the coastline while having a coffee or light snack.
