Discover the Palace of Knossos with a licensed Russian-speaking guide and explore one of the most important archaeological sites in Crete.
The tour begins with the myths connected to Knossos, including the story of King Minos, the Labyrinth, and the Minotaur. You will then learn about the history of the excavations, the restoration of the palace, and the chronology of the Minoan civilization.
During the walk, you will visit the West Court, the Processional Corridor, the West Storage Rooms, the Room of the Frescoes, the Central Court, the Small Throne Room, the Grand Staircase, and the King’s and Queen’s quarters. The tour continues to the North Entrance and the area connected with ancient trade and administration, before concluding near the Minoan Theatre.
This is a guided walking tour designed to help you understand not only what you see, but also how the palace may have functioned in Minoan life, ritual, and imagination.
