Begin your day with a convenient pickup from your hotel, villa, or accommodation in the Chania area. Travel in a modern air-conditioned vehicle to the Omalos Plateau, enjoying panoramic mountain views along the way.

Begin your self-guided hike at Xyloskalo, the entrance to Samaria Gorge. Follow the well-marked trail through one of Europe’s longest gorges, passing forests of pine and cypress, crystal-clear springs, abandoned villages, and the famous Iron Gates, where the gorge narrows dramatically. Along the way, you may spot the protected Cretan kri-kri goat in its natural habitat.

After completing the hike, arrive in the seaside village of Agia Roumeli, where you’ll have free time to relax, swim in the Libyan Sea, or enjoy lunch at a traditional taverna before boarding the ferry to Sfakia. Your private driver will be waiting there for the return journey to Chania.

If weather conditions or National Park regulations prevent the tour or a core part of the experience from operating, you will receive a full refund in accordance with KKday’s cancellation policy. Minor itinerary adjustments may occur due to weather or ferry schedules. If a confirmed pickup time changes by 30 minutes or more and you do not accept the new time, you will receive a full refund.
